Three-story homes making debut in Las Vegas Valley

Those who emulate the Nevada mountain sheep and practice stair-climbing as a ritual will love the three-story floor plans being introduced by Richmond American Homes priced in the upper $200,000s.

The vertical boxes, which may allow developers to squeeze more homes onto each acre of increasingly expensive land, run in square footage 1,430, 1,532, 1,552, 1,695, 1,730, 1,814 and 1,958 square feet, depending on the subdivision chosen.

The largest plan in the Ivy Collection, as measured in bedroom possibilities, is the Ivalace measuring 1,730 square feet with three bedrooms, two full baths and two powder rooms. The R-J on March 11 said, ?The second floor features an open living room, dining room and kitchen. The loft on the third floor can be optioned as a fourth bedroom.?

Any housewife who buys into one of these three-story plans can discard her stairclimbing machine forever. Imagine lugging a vacuum up and down the stairs, along with competing with the traffic of children and dogs.
